Toby - Loves to Cuddle!'s Story

Want to see Toby in person? He will be at the free Community Wellness Fair at the Holland Aquatic Center (550 Maple Ave) on Saturday April 25 from 10am to 2pm. Please stop by our booth and say hello.

Toby may not look his best right now—but his story, and his heart, are something truly special.

After his beloved owner passed away and his 84-year-old caregiver became too ill to care for him, Toby found himself in a shelter—confused, grieving, and in rough shape. He arrived with a severe flea infestation and painfully matted fur that required him to be shaved down completely.

Since coming into our care, Toby has had a full glow-up. He’s been neutered, had a dental, and even had a small cyst removed from his face. The only thing left behind is a charming little scar that gives him a bit of a “Harry Potter” look—and a reminder of how far he’s come.

Through it all, Toby has remained incredibly loving. He greets everyone with a wagging tail, adores meeting new people, and just wants to be close to his humans. His foster mom can even cradle him like a baby, and he soaks up every second of affection.

At 10 years old and just 17 pounds, Toby still has plenty of life and love to give. He enjoys his walks and being part of the action. He does have an enlarged heart and will need two daily medications to keep him feeling his best—but in return, you’ll get an endlessly sweet, loyal companion.

Toby has lost so much, but he hasn’t lost his spirit. He’s ready to love again—he just needs someone to give him that chance.

If you are interested in Toby, please email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com or fill out an application available here (scroll down for the app): https://tysonsplacerescue.org/cat-and-dog-adoptions/
