Toby is a 2-year-old Longcoat GSD who is looking for an experienced handler. The shelter where he was dumped at only said he lived outside with a pack of dogs. It was obvious that toby had very little human interaction. He is working at putting on some much needed weight and growing trust with each day. Toby is house trained and crate trained and has a strange connection with a certain orange ball. We are looking for a home with someone who is dedicated to spending lots of time working and training him as he is behind where he should be. I am going to be honest, Toby is somewhat of a mentally special needs boy. He was never socialized around people or places and this has him fearful at first but if you gain his respect Toby will never leave your side. There is also the possibility that toby has hip issues, but we can talk about this. His favorite things to do are playing fetch and playing in the water of any kind especially the baby pool so a fenced in yard is a must. He walks good on leash but can be hesitant in public places, a quiet neighborhood is recommended. Toby will need a home with one, maybe two people and no children. He is good with other dogs of all sizes but can be unsure about some things so he will need the right k-9 buddy to show him the ropes. He has met a cat and was not interested; he also does not seem to have a prey drive when outside with squirrels and birds running around. So again, with time and training he should be ok. Toby is a happy boy and loves being in the house with his foster mom, he has so much potential with the right person.
