Toby's Story

Hello everyone! My name is Toby (short for Tobias), and I am a beautiful, tiny 6.3 lb male Maltese mix about 4 years old, and I am blind, possibly born blind, but it appears I can see shadows. I was living in Del Rio, Texas, when my owner passed away, and then family members placed me in the local dog shelter. It was very scary and confusing, but thankfully, a kind lady brought me home so I could be with a dog rescue and find a new forever family. I am neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and my veterinary records are packed and ready to leave Texas behind!

I am a sweet, gentle, easy, shy little boy, quiet as a mouse, not very active, and not very playful either. I don't understand dog toys, but I understand love, and although I am timid, I will literally melt into your arms when you hold me. Yep, I love my person/people and am the happiest boy in town when we are together. I am housebroken and potty pad trained, always a good boy at home, but being kept in a crate isn't for me. I need some space, and even a small room with a doggy bed in it would be fine while you are away. I do not have separation anxiety, and I do not mind a ride in the car, but I am scared of loud noises, thunderstorms, and walking on a leash. I am looking for a peaceful, quiet home without the busy activity of small children or young, playful dogs. I have long, soft, baby-fine hair that will need daily brushing and occasional grooming. My foster mom wants you to know that I am extremely sweet and don't seem to realize I have any disability at all! Inquire about me today.
Adoption Fee: $600

LOOKING FOR AN APPLICATION?
