TOAST (Neutered!) Labrador Retriever & Terrier Mix Crossville, TN

TOAST and his sister were dumped in a soft sided carrier on the road leading to the shelter in late December on a very cold day. Luckily, a woman who was taking that road to the shelter, was able to alert staff that she had seen a living animal inside. So, staff drove down the road past Selk sanitation and discovered that there were actually two puppies inside this carrier. They immediately took them back to the shelter and got them warmed and feeling loved before they gave them their first set of puppy vaccines and dewormed them. TOAST is listed as Lab/Terrier mix puppies, about 8-10 weeks old. Petfinder’s AI thinks that TOAST looks like a border collie! They are both beautifully marked in black with white accents. He is adorable. Thanks to a partnership between UT and Cumberland County Animal Shelter TOAST was neutered on Monday, March 11. As a result, he can go home the same day that he is adopted! Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking your own dog collar and leash with you to the adoption appointment in case you do decide to adopt him. Even better, take a dog crate with you to that appointment. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!
