Meet Toast

Toast was recently rescued from a high kill southern shelter after being brought in as a stray. He was brought in by animal control in October of 2022. Despite his long stay at the shelter, he is a very sweet and playful young boy. He walks well on a leash and is heartworm negative. He is quite well behaved and he did not have any reaction to cats at the shelter. But once we got him into a foster home, he did seem to have a reaction to the cat. But, it does not appear that he would hurt a cat. It just seems as though he wants to play.
Toast is only about a year of age and he weighs just 40-45 lbs. He is listed as a Lab mix. We assume the mix is Bully of some sort. Maybe Pit Bull...maybe Boxer? Only a DNA test will tell for sure. We thought that four months was long enough for this wonderful dog to spend behind bars so we posted his bail and now we await his transport to PA on January 29th.

More about Toast: What better way to start your day than with a perfect slice of puppy happiness, goofiness and hugs and kisses. Bring home some TOAST and soon you too can live this dream each and every day. Toast is such a cool looking guy with his sleek tan coat, slightly scrunchy/square shaped boxer face and a wee bit of white at the end of his tail which is in constant "go go" mode! Toast is a fun dog who is loaded with "play with me" vibes. He has met many male and female dogs during his shelter stay and he's a true friend to all. He loves actively engaging with other dogs which includes a fun game of tag and some slight wrestling. If Toast could speak he might say, "I'm here for the party. Let's go and have a great time." Toast is a smile maker and while he has plenty of kisses and a terrific puppy like feel to him, he's never over the top and an easy enough guy to manage. Aged at a year old, Toast is graced with a refreshing, young attitude that is sure to appeal to a broad audience.
Toast is neutered, up-to-date with vaccinations, heart-worm negative and on preventatives. He is also micro-chipped. All he needs now is a wonderful home. Don't miss out on this great guy .... get that application in and ask for him today.
Toast has a suggested adoption donation of $325 in order to assist with the rescue's ongoing and ever-increasing vet bills. If you would like to submit an application to adopt or foster our sweet boy Toast when he arrives on transport on Sunday, Jan. 29th, you can do so by visiting our website at OneLifeToLiveRescue.com and getting started. A rescue volunteer will then be contacting you soon. Please ask about our ever popular "Foster-to-Adopt" option. Thank you for considering a wonderful, rescued Lab/Bully mixed breed dog!! Toast has found his "forever" home!! He will now be spending the "happily-ever-after" part of his life in Wilkes-Barre, PA!!
