Meet Toast

It's pretty impossible not to love Toast!

Toast is a 14-week-old bundle of fun who can't wait to be your new best friend. This happy girl is always the life of the party, whether that means racing around with one of her siblings or making her way from lap to lap. She loves to make new friends and is a social girl who is always ready for adventure. Toast currently weighs around 12lbs and we estimate she will be around 30-45lbs when fully grown.

Toast was surrendered to us with her 7 siblings after the previous owners had an unintentional litter and wanted help finding the best homes for the puppies.

Toast is on the smaller side compared to her other siblings, but she makes up for it with a big personality. She can hold her own wrestling with her siblings and will never turn down an opportunity to play chase or tug-of-war.

Toast is also a total cuddle bug and when she is not racing around, her favorite place is snuggled up with her foster parents on the couch.

Toast is a little smarty pants and has already learned to sit, her name, and how to come with a whistle. She is still learning all her basic manners though and needs a family dedicated to continuing her training and socialization.

Toast has done well with other dogs, but seems to take a little bit longer to warm up to large dogs. She would love to have another dog buddy in her new home but also could do well as an only dog. Toast has done well with the cats in her foster home and could do well living with dog-savvy cats in her forever home with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Toast has done well with kids and could be a great addition to a family with kids 7 years and older.

Toast has been making good process with her housetraining, but is still learning and her new family should be prepared for accidents and be patient with her while she is learning. Toast has done very well with her crate training and sleeps through the night in her crate and has done well being crated for short periods during the day both when home alone, and when her foster parents are working from home.

Toast is such a sweet girl and is going to make the best sidekick. If she sounds like the girl for you, submit an adoption application today!

Toast's adoption fee is $450.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.

Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives, and are given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
