Tinker's Story

Tinker came into rescue with several other dogs and puppies. We were told that their owner's insurance would not cover the number of dogs that she had so she had to rehome them to keep her insurance. We were told that Tinker is about a year old and is a dachshund mix from an accidental litter. That does seem accurate as she has that long body and those adorable feet that many long bodied dogs seem to have. Tinker is a very happy, sweet and gentle girl. She is learning to walk on a leash but still could use some work (a harness would help a lot). Tinker has been around other dogs her whole life so she should do fine with other dogs. She should do well with kids also as she has a very easy going gentle nature. Tinker does enjoy the attention of her people and lots of snuggles. We aren't sure how she would be with cats or if she has ever been around any. We do not have cats here to test her with. Because she is so mild mannered, she may do great with proper introductions. She rode great to the vet and seemed to enjoy her outing (one of the staff remarked how much she loved this little girl so she wins hearts quickly and easily). Tinker is a friendly girl and will be a fun, on the larger end of a small sized companion (perfect size for easy handling but still sturdy enough that she can handle kids).
Tinker saw the vet on 7/27/26 and was found to have no issues. She has been started on Simparica Trio for flea control and heartworm prevention with us and had a negative heartworm test. We have dewormed her with drontal also and she tested negative for intestinal parasites on 7/27/26 . Tinker weighed 22.5 pounds as of 7/27/26. She is fully vetted now and ready to find her forever family.
If interested in giving Tinker her forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number).Tinker's adoption fee will be $200 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Tinker based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for her, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
