Sometimes rescue begins with heartbreak.
This sweet girl was abandoned when a witness watched a car stop in the middle of the street, open its door, and dump Tina and another dog before driving away.
Thankfully, a wonderful human stepped in before either dog could be hit by traffic.
The good Samaritan rushed both dogs to be scanned for microchips. The other dog was chipped, and thanks to the efforts of a local municipal shelter, the chip was traced back to a rescue in Texas. They are already making arrangements to bring him back into their program.
But Tina had no chip.
No owner.
No rescue waiting for her.
No place to go.
So when I got the call, the answer was easy.
Today, Tina Turner became a Fairy Dogmother Rescue dog.
This afternoon, her rescuer brought her to me, and despite everything she has been through, Tina has shown us nothing but sweetness. She is gentle, loving, and eager to soak up every bit of kindness she receives.
