Our Mission

The Fairy Dogmothers Rescue is a foster-based nonprofit in Oklahoma dedicated to providing safe, loving homes for homeless dogs until they find their forever families. We rescue dogs from shelters across the state, partner with other rescues, and accept owner surrenders in need. Through our network of compassionate foster families, we ensure that every dog receives individualized care, medical attention, and the opportunity to thrive in a home environment. Our mission is to give each dog a second chance at life, while promoting responsible pet ownership, spaying and neutering, and community education to reduce pet homelessness.

Adoption Policy

Adoption Process (Foster-Based Rescue)
1. Application Submission
Potential adopters complete an Adoption Application that is emailed to the organization
Application includes personal information, pet ownership history, veterinary references, landlord approval (if applicable), and agreement to rescue policies.
2. Application Review & Screening
Rescue volunteers review applications.
References and veterinary checks are conducted
If concerns arise, the rescue may request clarification or decline the application.
3. Phone/Email Interview
Rescue volunteer contacts the applicant to discuss lifestyle, experience with pets, and expectations.
Provides education on breed-specific needs, rescue policies, and long-term commitment.
4. Meet & Greet
If the application is approved, a meet and greet is scheduled between the adopter, the foster family, and the dog.
Other pets in the adopter’s home may be introduced (either at the foster’s home, rescue event, or neutral location).
