Timber's Story

Timber is a handsome five-year-old neutered mantle Great Dane who came into the care of Big Hearts for Big Breeds alongside his younger brother, Oak. Though they are from different litters, they shared a home and were surrendered when their family was no longer able to care for them — a difficult transition that has led to a new opportunity for a loving future. Timber is a gentle, more reserved boy who takes a moment to settle in, but once he does, his sweet and affectionate nature shines through. He is great with people, does well with kids, and gets along nicely with other dogs. He has also been around chickens successfully, though pigs are not a good fit for him. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown. Timber is currently adjusting well in his foster home and continues to build confidence each day. While he and Oak share a past, they are in separate foster homes and are doing well independently, so they do not need to be adopted together. With a little patience and a lot of love, Timber will make a deeply loyal and devoted companion. If you’re looking for a kind-hearted Great Dane who will quietly become your shadow, Timber may be your perfect match.
