Tickles's Story
Tickles recently arrived in Maine from Alabama. Upon arrival he was feeling a bit nervous. Just after a few days in his foster home, he is feeling more comfortable & settling in. Tickles does terrific with the other dogs in the home. He is a happy guy who has won his foster siblings over quickly. He LOVES to be outside exploring, running around, playing & chasing balls. He has shown nervousness with the guys in the home. He will bark when he first sees them but does not act aggressive. He is warming up to them quickly, by them showing kindness & giving treats. Tickles is fond of his doggy play pen. Its his security area. Not uncommon for rescued dogs. We have been working on enjoying the rest of the house so he knows that is okay too. Tickles has come out of shell so much in just a few days.
He would love a forever home with other dogs to play & be silly with. He really enjoys being with his person, getting love, attention and being told he is a good boy 🥰 He has walked on leash some and does okay. He needs to feel secure with his person first then practice more with the leash & command training. He has met the cat a few times and followed her around, tail wagging.

Tickles is a mixed breed boy- we believe possibly some Border Collie, although his features are very delicate, which doesn't translate in pictures. He's about 6 months old and currently weighs about 25 lbs. We believe he will be between 40-50 lbs when full grown.

If you think you might be interested in adopting Tickles or just want to get pre-approved to adopt through us, please fill out an application on our website. Approvals are valid for one year and you will not have the waiting period of an application if you see a dog that you like! Approved adopters are placed on our email list for each transport and receive our Google slides that we send to all pre-approved adopters before posting on Petfinder and our social media and are eligible to attend our meet and greet events.
