Tiara's Story

Superior Tiara is a retired brood mama who is now ready to enjoy the good life as a beloved companion. She is a sweet, gentle, 7-year-old girl.

Tiara does not appear to have a strong prey drive, though she will perk up with curiosity if she spots something interesting. When screened for cat safeness, she was too interested in the cat for us to say she could be in a home with cats. She is currently being fostered in a home without small children, but she has shown no behaviors that would raise concern around them.

She has a charming way of making her presence known and may greet you with a little vocal excitement when you return home; she’s happy to see you! Tiara absolutely loves her kennel and sleeps there peacefully at night, as well as during the day when her foster family is away.

Tiara is wonderfully well-mannered in the house. She has had no accidents and will politely go to the door to let you know when she needs to go outside. She may also give a gentle alert during the night or first thing in the morning if she needs a potty break.

She enjoys her walks, even though she has access to a large fenced yard. The best part? She doesn’t need long outings, a short walk around the block keeps her happy and content. She also loves gazing out the window, quietly watching the world go by and searching for her furever family.

Tiara is patiently waiting for her perfect family to find her and give her the loving home she deserves.

This dog is being fostered in the Des Moines Area. We do not ship dogs. Adopters must be committed to meeting the dog in the area it is being fostered.

If you are interested in adopting or meeting this dog or any other of HGA's dogs, more information about the adoption process and the online application can be found here: https://heartlandgreyhoundadoption.org/adopt/adopt.html
We do not do meetings for dogs without an approved application.

The adoption fee for a Senior HGA dog is $200.00. This fee pays for medical costs including spay/neuter surgery, shots, parasite treatments, teeth cleaning, microchip and microchip registration fee. Each dog also comes with a special sighthound collar and leash set and muzzle. There is a $30 non-refundable application fee.
