Tiana's Story
Meet Princess Tiana!

Looking for a fairy tale ending? Meet Tiana, a beautiful 1-2 year-old, 73 lb Rottweiler (age is estimated) who’s ready to trade her stray past for a life full of love and belly rubs.

About Tiana:

Total lovebug who warms up quickly to women and kids, but is unsure around most men at first. (NOT aggressive towards men, but barks and backs away to create space. And a Rottie bark can *sound* scary haha).

Professional cuddle expert and aspiring lap dog (despite her size)

Loves belly rubs, wrestling with dog friends, and zooming around the house

Her little tail never stops wagging… and yes, her whole butt joins in!

Her Personality:

Tiana can be a little unsure in new environments. She also loves to chase after birds. Because of this, she’d do best living with a *fenced yard*. If you don't have a fence, you will need to keep her securely leashed at all times...and be prepared for 70lbs of Rottie to pull on that leash if she sees a bird taunting her.

Play Style & Energy:

This girl is what we lovingly call a “happy bull in a china shop.” When she gets excited, she goes all in—zoomies, couch collisions, flying rugs… nothing is safe from her enthusiasm. Because of her size and playful style:

Best suited for homes with kids ~8+

Would do best with medium/large dog friends who enjoy a rough-and-tumble play style

She has met cats and sniffed them politely, but does get excited around them. Also, she tries to chase birds outside so we arent sure if she would try to chase cats. The cats in her foster home stay away.

While she loves to play and wrestle, she is happy to do so with dogs *or* people, so if you don't have a doggy friend for her you should be prepared to do some wrestling yourself!

Home Needs: Tiana’s goofy, full-speed personality means she’s not a great fit for small living spaces—no apartments. She’ll thrive in a home with space to move and ideally a large fenced yard to safely burn off her zoomies. Experience with large breed dogs would be great too!

MEN: She loves her foster dad, but if he wears a ball cap or certain jackets then that can scare her. At Petsmart events she will take treats from men, but then bark and back away. She CAN be won over, but if you are a man and expect her to run up to you immediately and cover you in kisses then she probably isnt the dog for you. If you understand how to make yourself less intimidating, and are prepared to have snacks and patience, then she does warm up eventually.

Training & Habits:

- Kennel trained—goes in on her own and stays quiet, even for long work days

- Mostly housetrained! Has never had an accident in her kennel and has a huge bladder. She does not have accidents in the house as long as you potty her on a regular schedule.

- Learning leash walking and building confidence outdoors. Does pull on leash if allowed to.

- Loves to sniff—her nose is always on a mission!

- Knows “sit” and "down" and is very treat-motivated (she’s a smart girl )

The Perfect Home for Tiana: An active, loving family who understands that even princesses can be a little unsure sometimes. With time and training Tiana will absolutely blossom into a loyal, joyful companion!

Apply at adoptapal.org/adopt to meet her!

Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Out-of-State applications are accepted for an additional fee, and all of that information can be found on the website.

Tiana is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and comes with a month of free pet insurance. Her adoption fee is $500.
