Thunder's Story
Meet Thunder! Then, ask yourself how so much cuteness can fit in one little body.

Born approximately September 2023, our Cockapoo can be shy at first, but he quickly warms up and wants to be with his people. He is currently enjoying life in a Foster Home so we can learn more about him. Spoiler Alert: Thunder loves to cuddle!

His Foster Dad shared:
* He loves to cuddle. I think he would do well in a house with more people than my bachelor pad. He's very happy when I finally sit still for a bit and watch TV/ read. I haven't had him around children, so I cannot comment there.
* He's doing well with 3 other dogs. I will state that Thunder likes to boss the other dogs around (typical little dog syndrome). My dogs accept it for the most part, but it may be a consideration that he shouldn't go to a home with another strong-willed, alpha-wannabe.
* We're still working on accidents in the house. He's good in his kennel, so I'm of the mind this will improve as he continues to feel the whole house is his space.
* Likewise, he's a vocal little guy (increased as he felt more comfortable here). We're working on this as well, and he is improving.***
* He plays with his toys and enjoys treats.
* I thought he was happy with his kennel, but once he became comfortable here, he's not a fan. I'm still putting him in the kennel for bedtime, but he complains for 10 minutes or so.

*** Note: Thunder is still working on his "inside voice" so apartment-living might not be a good match.

And there you have it! Give Thunder a little time and patience and he will settle right in with your routine. Make every day Thunder-ful with your new best buddy! Please complete the following application and a volunteer will contact you.

https://www.parkvilleshelter.com/adoption-application

FOPAS is primarily run by volunteers who are passionate about animal welfare and are dedicated to our animals for their entire lives. As such, we screen all potential adopters and strive to match each adopter with the perfect fit for their lifestyle and activity level.

All adopters must live within a 4-hour drive of Parkville, Missouri.
