Talk about a silly, active group! At first glance we thought the daddy was likely a blue heeler mix. DNA says we have another Big Dog / Little Dog love affair. Mommy Marvel is only about 30# and looks like a Dachshund - explaining all the smaller breeds in the DNA, while daddy appears to be Heeler / GSD / Husky / Retriever and MORE! So we left them as Heeler on Petfinder since that's what they look like, but they are all MUTT! <br/><br/>Sweet Thor was adopted back in early April. Sadly his family had a family emergency and needed to return him to the rescue. They are beyond devastated and took such good care of him. Thor is great with other dogs, super cuddly and super smart! Other puppies in the litter had kids in the home and they are doing great. We think another friendly dog is a great fit for any puppy, and these puppies will likely be active and smart. So a family ready for fun and training and adventures would be a great fit. Thor had cats in his home, he wanted to pounce and play, so dog savvy cats for sure. He's doing great with housebreaking, sleeps through the night. He's a really good boy!<br/><br/>At 16 weeks, Thor is only 21 pounds, DNA indicated they could be in the 40-50# range when fully grown, and it looks like that's about right. He's much smaller than he looks. <br/><br/>This puppy is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! <br/><br/>The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.<br/><br/>Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. <br/><br/>Adoptions typically take place in the Stanwood area. <br/>Adoption fee is $525. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. <br/><br/>Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.<br/><br/>Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
