Thor's Story

Thor is only 1.5 years old and defines resilience, forgiveness, and unconditional love. Everything you could ask for in a dog. He is an incredibly sweet Hound/Doberman mix who has been through more than any dog ever should, yet he continues to greet the world with kindness, a wagging tail, and a heart full of love.

Thor was discovered by a Good Samaritan after a neighbor had been shooting at him while he desperately dragged a severely injured leg. We may never know how long he suffered or how it came to be like this with that mangled and infected foot, but sadly the damage was beyond repair and amputation was the only option.

And yet, Thor doesn’t look back in that moment. In fact, losing the leg seems to have brought him relief. His missing limb has not slowed him down one bit. He happily jumps on and off beds, hops up and down porches, and moves through life with a joy that is impossible not to admire. Watching him now, you’d think he’s always been a tripod.

Thor is truly everything you could want in a companion. He is affectionate, loving, and wonderful with all other dogs. He thrives around canine friends and enjoys being part of the family. He has done well being crated when left alone in a previous foster home, and in his current home he relaxes comfortably while his humans are away and snuggled next to his buddies.

He also absolutely LOVES car rides. The moment the car door opens, Thor is ready to hop in and join you for the adventure. Whether it’s a quick errand or a road trip, he wants to be your co-pilot through life.

Thor is living proof that dogs are capable of incredible resilience and living in the moment. Despite everything he has endured, he remains gentle, trusting, and full of love to give.

For the family lucky enough to adopt him, Thor won’t just be a dog, he’ll be a daily reminder of strength, hope, and the incredible spirit animals carry with them.

Est DOB 11/1/2024
