Thor 3604

09/14/26. Thor is a handsome, big-framed Doberman with a striking black-and-tan coat, an athletic build, and a confident presence. Behind that impressive appearance is an incredibly affectionate dog who truly believes he should be wherever his people are. Thor is the definition of a Velcro dog—he loves being close to his humans and thrives on attention and companionship. He can be vocal when he wants affection or interaction, but he is easily redirected and is eager to engage with his handler.

Thor has experience with both off-leash obedience and e-collar obedience, giving him a solid foundation for building his manners and reliability. While he definitely prefers people to other dogs, Thor is friendly with most dogs and can enjoy appropriate canine companionship. He is also highly food-motivated, making treats one of the many ways to keep him engaged and focused while working with his handler.

Because Thor is such a big, athletic boy, he would do best in a home with a yard where he can stretch out, gallop, and get the exercise he needs. More than anything, he wants to be part of his family and included in everyday life. Thor is sweet and affectionate with children ages eight and up, making him a wonderful companion for the right family—one that understands the needs of a large, active Doberman. Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). These dogs will always be supported by DRL. We welcome financial support for these dogs. Here are links to foster and adoption applications for those dogs who need a foster home or adoptive home.
Foster Application Adoption Application
