Theseus's Story
Theseus is a very serious name for a dog who is mostly ears, feet and enthusiasm. Somewhere in ancient Greece, a scholar is disappointed. The rest of us are delighted. This guy is a big puppy whose ancestry includes Great Pyrenees, Anatolian Shepherd and basset hound, because nobody was supervising. He has enormous paws, magnificent ears and absolutely no interest in living up to the intellectual weight of his name. He would like a friend and something to do with that friend.

Theseus is sweet, friendly and good with dogs, cats and children. He needs another pet in his home, and he would appreciate someone who shares his interest in playing and being generally pleased to be alive. It is difficult to stage a proper romp when your only companion is answering emails and posting dogs for adoption.

He is still growing into both his parts and his responsibilities. Housebreaking is a work in progress, and a consistent routine will help him get it sorted. His people should plan on the usual puppy instruction. Looking like you could pull a municipal vehicle does not mean you know you should ask to go outside.

A securely fenced yard is required, along with room for a dog who is unlikely to mature into something that fits neatly beside your purse. Theseus brings a lovely disposition, considerable comic potential and enough ear to go around. If you have a friendly pet and an opening for a large, sweet puppy with a distinguished name, we have your boy.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please apply online, at https://bigfluffydogs.com/dog-adoption/ and then email katrina@bigfluffydogs.com. Our main website, www.bigfluffydogs.com has more information about us and the rescue process. Theseus is currently in Nashville but can travel to a lot of places. BFDR has established transport networks and foster homes across most of the eastern United States, so this dog can be safely and comfortably transported to approved adopters in your area.

NOTE TO EMAILERS FROM PETFINDER: UNLESS YOU FILL OUT AN APPLICATION, WE DO NOT KNOW YOU OFFICIALLY EXIST. Please be sure to do the application in addition to emailing the coordinator as the application will get a response.

All known information about an individual dog is provided in its listing. We do our best to provide accurate information, but adopters should understand that each home is different and the dog may behave differently in a new home. Dogs are creatures of their environment and you help make the dog what it will be.
