THANOS**'s Story

I was surrendered to the shelter when my owner could no longer care for me. I am a sweet boy and I did really well for my intake process (exam, vaccines). I am heartworm positive, and the staff can give you more information about my treatment if you are interested in adopting me. In North Carolina, it's unfortunately common to see many dogs that are infected with heartworms (they are transmitted by mosquito bites). Heartworm disease may cause severe lung disease, heart failure, or other organ damage in dogs. It's usually fatal if left untreated. Heartworm treatment is costly. With your support, OCAS can help more dogs with this disease - resulting in healthier dogs that are even more likely to get adopted. Please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign . Foster notes on Thanos: Don't let his name fool you—Thanos is anything but evil! He is the sweetest boy ever! He loves to cuddle up with you and go on any adventure you can think of. He is great in the car and hardly makes any noise! He needs a home and a loving family who will snuggle with him, take him on many long walks and adventures, and play with him. He is truly so friendly and loving, and is such a great dog! We went on a walk around UNC's campus, took him to get a pup cup, and just chilled on our porch. Favorite thing about Thanos: His cute round face and how sweet he is! Thanos was such a sweet boy on his sleepover! He had a great time in the car; he looked out the windows for a bit and then settled down in the back seat. He was friendly with our dog and happy to share toys or just hang out. He explored the house, got lots of pets and praise, and then happily chilled out on the couch or in my lap—Thanos is 100% a 75lb lapdog! He’s such a sweet and cuddly boy who behaved very well and just wants to be friends with everyone. Favorite thing: His sweet, friendly, cuddly demeanor! Took him to the courtyard and ran around. He enjoyed chasing us more than playing with a ball. Such a friendly boy, very curious but will drop something or leave something alone if you get his attention.
