IN VERMONT ! WELCOME THE WANDERING DUO TO GOLDEN HUGGS
Caroline & Tex, a bonded pair of fabulousness, were initially saved by two incredibly compassionate women who retrieved them more than several times from dangerously roaming the busy streets of New Iberia, Louisiana and alligator-laden Bayou Teche.
This chillaxing duo is comprised of the most fabulous of breeds: 5 y/o PB Golden Retriever, TEX, and his 3 y/o offspring, CAROLINE( ½ German Shepherd/Golden) couldn’t be finer examples of what’s stellar about each breed.
Given their proclivity to roam, we are not accepting applications for this precious pair with underground fencing.
TEX & CAROLINE aren’t typical escape artists, but understandably attempt to leave the yard to BE CLOSE TO HUMAN ATTENTION. While GOLDEN HUGGS & any responsible rescue mandates that dogs NEVER be left outside unattended, this is especially true for TEX & CAROLINE.
This CHILLAXEST of duos prefer pets & snuggles over most anything and they absolutely, LOVE CHILDREN, all PEOPLE & other dogs of all sizes/ages. They are equal opportunity lovers. And they ignore cats too.
Their ideal home is an adopter/family who not only have a secure back yard, but also intend to walk them daily as they so delight in the sights and sounds of new things. They are an absolute joy to walk through town stopping to be petted by all, visit, hang out and mosey on. They also greet other dogs happily along the way.
Fully vetted, healthy and full of sweet love, Tex & Caroline shared their temporary foster diggs with an array of other dogs of all ages, size, sex & breeds from a 9 year old rescued German Shepherd female, a 5 month old mixed foster puppy, five Golden Retrievers of differing sizes, ages & energy levels, along with a geriatric female mixed breed
Tex & Caroline are completely house-trained, kennel trained (though they do not require it), ride exceedingly well in a car, love the vet and are truly so easy to have around.
While neither exhibit any anxiety when the other isn’t present at the foster’s home, that’s likely because there are more than a handful of other dogs around. Still, they are a bonded pair and delight in the presence of one another, and will ONLY be adopted together. They deserve this, having known one another their whole lives. GOLDEN HUGGS shall honor and preserve this continuity and celebrate the comfort they derive from one another. Relationships of all kinds matter.
GHR ONLY ADOPTS TO ADULTS OVER THE AGE OF 25 AND PUPPIES TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE TIME FOR THEM.
It doesn't matter where the pups are from; it only matters where they live the rest of their lives. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application at www.goldenhuggs.org, this is the first step in the process. The adoption fee is $585 EACH DOG which includes spay or neuter, shots age appropriate and transportation to the New England drop off points. For more information, please contact info@goldenhuggs.org.
