Teeny came to PPFT when she was only about a week old, after her mama found herself abandoned, wandered up to someones home looking for help, and promptly gave birth. So while most puppies spend their first week of life mastering advanced skills such as sleeping and being shaped like a potato, Teeny was already beginning a pretty incredible rescue story. And now? Well, the potato has developed a personality. We would first like to formally address the name Teeny. At 3 months old and already 22 pounds, Teeny appears to be treating her name less as a description and more as a temporary condition. Please enjoy picking her up while you still can. Please enjoy having her climb into your lap while there is still technically room for both of you. Because Teeny has every intention of continuing this behavior long after she reaches the size of a small ottoman. Her future family should familiarize themselves with the phrase: Maam, you are not a lap dog. Teeny will familiarize herself with ignoring it. Teeny is happy, playful, brave, loving, and ridiculously affectionate. She loves being close to her people and is more than happy to roll over and present her belly for the appropriate amount of admiration. Teeny has earned another distinction during her time in rescue: She is a foster favorite. And not just with the person currently caring for her. Several people who have met Teeny have fallen for this sweet little girl. She just has one of those personalities that sneaks up on you. She's playful enough to make you laugh, brave enough to confidently explore her world, and affectionate enough to make sure you know exactly how much she adores you. <br/><br/>Teeny is one of those puppies who seems to have inherited more of the guardian side of the Great Pyrenees personality, so her foster feels she would be happiest in a house with a securely fenced yard rather than an apartment. Not because she needs to spend her days outside—Teeny very much enjoys being with her humans—but because this girl would LOVE having a kingdom to survey. And Teeny takes surveying seriously. She climbs: Rocks. Chairs. Fire pit edges. Anything that provides the high ground. If there is an elevated surface from which Teeny can stand dramatically and inspect her domain, she will locate it. Give this girl a yard and we fully expect her morning routine to eventually become:<br/><br/>6:03 a.m. — Perimeter check.<br/> 6:07 a.m. — Investigate squirrel.<br/> 6:08 a.m. — Squirrel remains suspicious.<br/> 6:15 a.m. — Stand on rock.<br/> 6:16 a.m. — Feel powerful.<br/><br/>At just 3 months old, Teeny has apparently reviewed her Great Pyrenees ancestry and decided: Yes. Ill be taking that very seriously. Teeny has discovered that she has a voice, and she sees absolutely no reason to squander such a gift. Future Teeny adopters should therefore be prepared for a dog who may consider herself an integral part of the household security system. Teeny is an adorable combination of adventure buddy and professional couch potato. Her energy level is around a 4/10, but she is brave, curious, and loves exploring. Her foster thinks she could grow into a wonderful hiking companion once she's old enough for those bigger adventures. But Teeny isn't looking for a family who intends to scale Everest every Tuesday. After exploring the wilderness, surveying the property, protecting civilization from birds, and climbing whatever unnecessary object she discovered along the way, Teeny is perfectly content to call it a day. Preferably with a nap. Possibly in your lap. <br/><br/>Teeny loves other dogs. So another friendly dog could be a wonderful addition to Teeny's future family. As for cats, Teeny hasn't been tested with them yet. Her brother Devens apparently loves his resident kitty and has already progressed to napping-with-cat status, but genetics does not constitute an official feline reference, so Teeny herself remains an unknown. Teeny has spent time around toddlers through middle-school-aged kids and loves them. She also recently met her mama's new 3- and 6-year-old boys and thought they were fantastic. Teeny's affectionate, playful personality could make her a wonderful family dog, especially for a family that wants a pup who can grow up alongside them and be included in their adventures. When Teeny meets someone new, she is what her foster perfectly describes as cautiously enthusiastic. Her Pyr brain says: Who are you? Her puppy brain says: OH MY GOSH, IS THAT MY NEW BEST FRIEND?! So there may be a brief internal committee meeting. She'll hang back for a moment and assess the situation while her tail is apparently wagging like crazy, completely ruining any attempt she was making to appear suspicious. Then the investigation concludes. PERSON APPROVED. Commence pets. Commence kisses. Commence Teeny attempting to crawl into your lap<br/><br/>Teeny is already learning some important puppy skills. She knows sit, is doing really well with early leash practice in the backyard, and is both treat-motivated and eager to please. She hasn't ventured out on proper walks yet, but she's getting the foundation down. Potty training is also going well when she's kept on a consistent schedule. Teeny likes the sprinkler. The kiddie pool? That was apparently misunderstood entirely. Her foster filled it once so the puppies could splash around. The puppies looked at this alleged pool and collectively decided: Counterproposal: mountain. It has since been flipped over and turned into something they climb on. Honestly, Teeny probably considers this an improvement. Teeny likes toys. She will chase something you throw. Returning it, however, was apparently not included in the original agreement. You threw it away. Teeny retrieved it. Why would she now give it back to the person who demonstrated such irresponsible toy ownership? Please review your expectations.<br/><br/> Think Teeny belongs in your family?<br/><br/>Then it is time to fill out an adoption application for Teeny! And yes, the application is required. We cannot send your heartfelt Facebook comment of OMG NEED HER to her foster family for consideration. We cannot submit your tag of your spouse followed by PLEASEEEEE. And while we fully support announcing that you would literally die for her, we'd actually prefer that you remain alive because Teeny needs someone available for belly-rub duty.<br/><br/>Fill. Out.
