Teddy's Story
EXPERIENCED FUREVER HOME WANTED!

Meet Teddy -

Teddy is a 3-year-old, 9-pound Shih Tzu mix whose confidence is growing daily.

This little guy is smart, affectionate and bonus - housebroken. He’s practicing sitting on command and he’s learning some new tricks in his foster home.

- Indoors he is blissfully low-key — enjoying playtime with stuffies, couch cuddles, and his favorite pâté at mealtime. No he does not eat kibble and he is offended you even considered it. He gets along well with the much larger resident dog in his foster home. He will do well with another well socialized dog that picks up on his cues and understands that some things aren’t meant for sharing.

- His official interests include quiet neighborhood walks, fetch with his beloved stuffy soccer ball, gentle brushing, and lots of treats.

- Walks are going great — he's building confidence and rocking his harness. Low traffic areas will allow him the chance to relax and enjoy his outdoor time. Bring lots of yummy treats and reward him for his best behavior.

- Teddy does have resource guarding behaviors, can sometimes exhibit stranger danger on walks, and is a little sensitive to quick movements around his head, so he'll shine brightest with a patient and experienced dog-savvy home that appreciates that the best things unfold gradually. In his foster home, he does well with a very dog-savvy tween, but small kids are not a good fit. We think the right 13+ kid that can respect Teddy’s boundaries would be just fine.

Teddy is a lovely companion. He just wants what we all want — someone to go through life with, a good walk, a nice meal, and daily cuddles from someone who gets him.

If you are interested in finding out more about Teddy, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser:

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog

Teddy is being fostered in Worcester, MA.

The adoption fee is $500.

Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!.

Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram!

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
