Teddy's Story

Please read before applying:
Teddy is looking for a very specific forever home.

We are seeking an adult-only home with one person or a couple, no children, no other pets, and very little foot traffic or frequent visitors. Teddy has already been through too many changes in his life, and we are committed to finding him the stable, lifelong home he deserves.

Teddy may be little, but his personality is larger than life. This adorable, spunky little guy is full of charm, loves to explore, and is happiest curled up next to the person he trusts most. Once Teddy decides youre his person, hell be your loyal shadow, your cuddle buddy, and your biggest fan.

Because Teddy forms such strong attachments, he needs a home where he can feel secure and successful. He bonds deeply with his person and can become protective of them. When Teddy is sitting with or near the person he loves, he may growl or bite if someone approaches too closely.

For that reason, Teddy is not a good fit for homes with children, other pets, or a busy social lifestyle. He will thrive in a calm, predictable environment with people who understand his needs, respect his boundaries, and appreciate the incredibly loyal companion he becomes once he trusts you.

The right person wont see Teddy's devotion as a challenge—theyll see it as the incredible gift it is. If you're looking for a tiny companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Teddy just might be your perfect match—and we're hoping you'll be his forever.

We do NOT respond to PetFinder inquires; we only respond to emails sent to adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org regarding adoption inquires.

We never know how quickly a pet will be adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in a pet but want to see them during our shelter open hours prior to filling out an application, we strongly recommend that you email us at adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org before visiting the shelter to ensure they are still there.

Open hours are Wednesdays 1:30-6pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 10am-2pm for you to come view our adoptable pets. You can apply for animal at the shelter during our open hours or online by emailing adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org and asking for an application. Adoption fees allow our non-profit to continue to help pets in need.

Meet and greets with animals are scheduled after applications have been processed and weve determined you are the best fit. We do not operate on a first come, first served basis.

Our Adoption Process Please note our adoption application process is not on a first come, first serve basis. When you first arrive at our shelter, you will be asked to fill out a brief survey, which helps us to find the right pet for you. Our adoption counselors act as “matchmakers” and will work with you to find the right match - for both you and the animal - based on the information you have given us. If you don't find a match right away, we will hold your survey on file for several months while you continue your search.
