Thank you.<br/><br/>Meet Teddy, who is a 4-year-old white and tan Shih Tzu/mix (part Shih Tzu and perhaps Bichon Frise). He weighs 16 pounds, but looks larger than that because of all his beautiful fluffy, fur. He is soft and cuddly but also quite shy. He requires some time to warm up to people, but when he does, he can be quite playful and affectionate. He gets along with other dogs that visit his foster mom’s home regularly and loves to tease her current elderly dog who lives in her home. He enjoys being brushed and groomed and has wonderful house manners, including being well housetrained.<br/><br/>Because he is he is shy at first, he will need to go to a home with individuals who have had experience and patience with introverted dogs and have no young children. He would probably be okay in a family with older, well-behaved children who know how to gently and appropriately interact with a small dog.<br/><br/>These are the requirements for Teddy’s new family:<br/><br/>1. A family where someone is home almost all day.<br/><br/>2. A family with children over the age of ten will be considered if they have had experience with and understand how respectfully to and appropriately interact with small dogs.<br/><br/>3. A fenced yard would be great but is not a deal breaker. If his new family doesn’t have a fenced yard, they must be able to walk him daily so that he has a chance to enjoy the outdoors.<br/><br/>4. Allow Teddy to sleep in their bedroom on his dog bed, or better yet, with them in their bed.<br/><br/>5. Would be fine being in household with another small dog or happy being the only dog in the family.<br/><br/>6. Live within 25 miles of Edina, MN.<br/><br/>7. Try to attend the annual Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held each year in September.<br/><br/>Teddy has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick preventive. His adoption fee is $420.00 plus $37.91 in sales tax for a total of $457.91.<br/><br/>To meet Teddy, please complete an adoption application at the website listed in the first paragraph.
