Taz's Story
Meet Taz! Taz is an 8-year-old senior German Shepherd mix weighing in at 78 lbs. Don’t let his senior status fool you, though– Taz is a puppy through and through.

Taz is friendly and enthusiastic. He’s a staff favorite who adores every person he meets and will happily greet them with tons of affection. Taz is energetic and loves running and playing, especially with a soft squeaky toy! He’s also very food motivated and will happily gobble up treats of any kind.

Taz is making great progress on his potty training in-shelter. While he still has occasional accidents, he’s been doing a much better job at keeping his kennel clean than when he first came into the shelter, and would likely flourish in a home with consistency and routine.

Taz has met with other large dogs and done fantastically, meaning he would likely do well in a home with other dogs. A meet-and-greet is still highly recommended to test compatibility. We’re not sure yet how Taz feels about small dogs, cats, or other animals. He may also do better in a home with older or more dog-savvy kids because of his large size and high energy.

Come meet Taz today, and he’ll become your favorite, too!

Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!

Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $300+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
