Taz Australian Kelpie & Belgian Shepherd / Malinois Mix San Diego, CA

Hi there! I'm Taz, the Belgian Malinois, Australian Kelpie, Flat coated retriever but most importantly good boy mix with a heart full of love and adventure! At 4-5 years old and a sturdy 45 lbs, I've been through quite the journey. Rescued from a shelter in Ensenada that tortured lots of dogs for years. When TCF came to the rescue I stole the show with my personality and my determination to break free from that dreaded crate.

Sure, I've got a bit of PTSD from my past, especially around crates and being left alone, but we're working on it. With practice, reassurance, and a touch of medication, I'm making progress. The car is my safe haven – I'll happily wait for you there, no worries.

I might have a limp from some previous injuries, but trust me, I can run like the wind and play like there's no tomorrow. Cuddly, energetic, and loyal—that's me in a nutshell. I get along with other dogs after a proper introduction, and cats? No problem!

Leashes and I are still figuring things out, especially when other dogs are around. But we're using a gentle leader, and I'm getting better. Water, though? Terrifying. Rain, baths, or the beach—it's a hard pass. But I love a good wipe-down and a gentle brushing.

I'm a smart cookie, picking up commands and even figuring out how to open doors. My ideal home? A place with a yard for my antics, an active owner for walks and play, and someone who understands that overcoming separation anxiety takes time and patience.
