Tartan Army 14225's Story

Soft, silky locks make Tartan Army an ideal candidate for cuddling - long haired chihuahuas are better than the coziest teddy bear so if you're looking for a snuggle buddy, Tartan Army is a strong contender. Why is he known as the Tartan Army, you might ask? Why, because he can be seen summoning his hordes of followers with one of the most endearing howls you've ever heard. He's probably not going to run any marathons, but this little guy will happily promenade about town with you - he'd love to see the sights (and more importantly, smell the smells) if you've got a few errands to run. If you've got an opening for a new best friend, we recommend that you come join the Tartan Army!

Here's some notes from his foster:

Tartan Army is the sweetest tart to ever tart. An enjoyer of classical music, chasing seagulls, chicken and words of affirmation, Tartan Army has a care free spunk as he takes on the world. You would think he's 11 years old in human years with his youthful charm, agility, fast learning and pep in his step!

This little soft-coated prince would thrive in a calm environment with gentle people that can entertain his energetic side while providing noise sensitive quiet and loving reassurance.

Tart likes to be given the space to warm up first, usually through playing fetch with his favorite toy. He prefers to gradually work up to belly rubs but will reward you with kisses along the way. Give Tart 10 minutes and he can adapt to any unfamiliar situation. He's a simple little guy, he respects your boundaries and wants you to respect his.

However, he's very agreeable during paw and fur inspections and appreciates being taken care of. You won't find much trouble at vet visits.

Tart loves his people; he'd do well with matured adults or small families that can provide him quiet peace and attention while including him in a consistent routine of stimulating walks, the occasional adventure and designated cuddle time. Tart would do best in a home where he can coexist with a small/medium calm dog rather than be a best friend to your current social, energetic mutt.

Tart will greet you in the morning with spins, toy in mouth; he adapts well to a routine and was a very quick learner with potty training. He slept peacefully throughout the night in his bed with us close and was a loyal, quiet companion throughout the day. He's more than happy to play and receive attention but will get the message if it's nap time.

Tart's ideal perfect day consists of morning scratches, chicken breakfast, a trip to the beach, lots of love and ending the day with belly rubs and a heart to heart.

From his morning puppy eyes and afternoon pitter patter to his gentle evening snores, Tartan Army loves deeply. This little boy captured our hearts from the moment we met.
