Tara's Story

Even though we are still waiting for permanent warmer weather, Tara is totally fine if that means she can keep napping on your lap.

Tara is a 5 year old schnauzer mix and was found as a stray. She is definitely used to living indoors and knows how to sit, stay, come, and wait. Tara also likely got a lot of table food and took a little convincing that she should only eat dog food!

Tara would love to be home with you, watching squirrels from a window or door, hanging out, and maybe going for a leisurely walk. Tara doesn't mind cats, would be fine with respectful kids, and plays well with other dogs. Probably no small animal pets in the house, though. She would appreciate if her new family understands that she likes low key introductions to brand new people. She is also housetrained and was very good when she had a grooming session.

Tara is a happy, happy girl who even does a little dance when she wakes up in the morning - expect to be smiling a lot around this gal! Tara has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 luxating patella in one of her rear legs. Her vet does not recommend medical intervention. If she plays very hard for a long time, is jumping a lot, or is running for a long period of time, her patella (kneecap) can luxate and she may limp afterwards.

Having a luxating patella can be common in some dogs and anyone interested in Tara should be aware that she needs to maintain a healthy weight and you should keep an eye on her activity throughout the day.

To apply for a dog from All Dog Rescue, please fill out our online application at: alldogmn.org/Adopt.html All Dog Rescue adopts out to homes within 60-miles of the Twin Cities due to post-adoption services and volunteer commitment.
