Tanky's Story

Tanky is a 2 yr old (DOB 1/25/25) male French Bulldog that would love to be your partner in crime on your every adventure. Loves to go on walks and car rides. He is very spunky and outgoing guy! Seems to love and want to be friends with everyone he meets.

He came into rescue because his family did not provide vet care for him to treat numerous ear infections. His ear canals filled with infection and yeast which caused a tissue overgrowth that has since received treatment and undergone an operation to resolve. He has also had surgery to open his nasal area and reduce his soft pallet, so he is able to breathe better.

Tanky has a new lease on life and is ready to live it to the fullest with his new family. He is good with kids over 5 years old that are kind to him. He does not like to be chased by children or loud shrieking.

He plays well with other dogs. He needs a securely fenced yard to contain him while he does his daily course of zoomies and to keep him safe while he keeps the squirrel and rabbit population at bay.

French Bulldogs tend to require a lot of veterinary care as they age, so his family needs to plan for and be able to provide ongoing care as needed to keep Tanky a happy dog! People with French Bull Dog experience that are familiar with their breed specific needs like daily cleaning of his face creases to prevent yeast growth in the crevices would be helpful but not required. Avoiding chicken based dog food to help prevent skin and ear issues.

Are you the right family to star in Tanky’s New Life Adventure?

He is now ready to accept applications. You MUST be able to take care of the needs of a frenchie.

Please visit www.handsheartspaws.org for an adoption application

All of our dogs are current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, fecal tested, heartworm tested, and they are all on heartworm and flea/tick preventative.

The adoption process is an application, a vet reference, a home visit, and a lifetime contract. The requested adoption donation for this dog is $650___.

We do not REQUIRE a fenced in yard (some dogs DO REQUIRE a fence. Decide what is best for each dog), we do REQUIRE a means of safe outside containment. We do NOT adopt to homes that use invisible fencing. Invisible fencing is NOT a safe means of outside containment.

We are willing to adopt out-of-state, contingent on our ability to complete a home visit, but you must travel to Omaha to complete the adoption. We do not transport or ship our dogs
