Tank's Story

Tank is a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois/Australian Shepherd mix with a handsome sable coat, a big personality, and a heart of gold.

At around 40 pounds, Tank is the perfect size for an active family looking for a loyal companion. He is fully vetted, neutered, crate trained, and gets along wonderfully with people and other dogs.

Tank is a tripod after losing a front leg in an accident as a young puppy. Thankfully, he never got the memo that he's missing a leg. It doesn't slow him down one bit. He loves to run, play, explore, and keep up with whatever adventure comes his way.

One of Tank's favorite things in the world is water. Whether it's a creek, pond, sprinkler, or kiddie pool, if water is involved, Tank is ready to dive in. He is also incredibly devoted to his people and happiest when he can be by their side.

Tank would thrive with an active family that understands intelligent, high-energy working breeds. He is highly food motivated, eager to learn, and loves having a job to do. He has been wonderful with children and has lived alongside many foster dogs, both large and small.

Tank is not a good fit for a home with cats. He can become overly excited around them and would do best in a cat-free home. He should also not be trusted with free-ranging chickens or other small livestock.

His current owner believes Tank may need a refresher on potty training. He is crate trained and does very well in his crate, but he has spent much of his life in a dog setup separate from the main house and has occasionally marked areas where other dogs have previously marked. With consistency, routine, and guidance, we expect him to adjust quickly to life in a traditional home.

Tank is looking for a family that will appreciate his loyalty, intelligence, and zest for life. If you're searching for an active companion who will happily join you on adventures, splash in every puddle he can find, and then curl up nearby at the end of the day, Tank may be the perfect match.

Tank's Highlights
3 years old
Belgian Malinois / Australian Shepherd mix
Approximately 40 pounds
Neutered and fully vetted
Crate trained
Good with children
Good with other dogs
Highly food motivated
Loves water
Tripod (front leg amputee)
Active home preferred
No cats
Not suitable for homes with free-ranging chickens
