Tallulah's Story

Tallulah the brindle female English Mastiff is at that perfect age of 2 where she has learned many of the good things smart dogs need to know but is still young and spunky. Her name has a Native American origin, meaning "leaping water" and is often associated with the imagery of waterfalls or fast-flowing streams. With her effortless grace, Tallulah is as naturally beautiful as a cascading waterfall. Sadly, Tallulah is returning to the rescue after she was adopted about a year ago and the circumstances are just not her fault. She recently tore her ACL but her owner’s pet insurance has refused to cover the cost of surgery due to technicalities. So, without insurance coverage the owner cannot afford to pay for the surgery. With Big Dogs Huge Paws Rescue, Tallulah has been placed in a foster home and will be having the surgery that she needs and wonderful care during her recovery. Tallulah loves going to the dog park (which is where she tore her ACL) and hiking, riding in the truck with her head out the window and going to breweries where everyone pets her and feeds her treats. She is good with other dogs and likes male dogs to give her time to adjust to their energy with patience. Tallulah is also a little intimidated by small children and is more comfortable with older kids. If Tallulah’s story sends your heart leaping out of the water, please put in your adoption application to provide her that forever home she is now dreaming about.

Giant Breed Experienced Homes Only.

Big Dogs Huge Paws, inc's Adoption Policy
Many of the gentle giants that come into our rescue have been neglected or abused. Others have simply been abandoned by their owners due to a divorce, a new baby, moving, or natural disaster. We are often told that they got “too big” or “too expensive” and many of the dogs below come to us with very little training. Despite their past, rescue dogs are incredibly forgiving and very eager to please. They have so much to give and are all very special. We are looking for forever homes and permanent families who will love their new addition unconditionally and give them the love and support they need and deserve for the rest of their lives. Adoption Requirements and Guidelines a. Applicants must have never been convicted of any animal abuse laws. b. All potential adopters must completely fill out and sign the adoption application and the information must be verified and approved by a BDHPI representative. c. All appli
