Tails's Story

Pet Location:
Wayside’s Canine Behavior Center – I'd love to show off all the cool things I’ve learned at Wayside! Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me!

My Friends at Wayside say:
- I am enrolled in Confidence College. This is a program for dogs to build confidence and learn that the world is not so scary. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session.
- New people and things make me a little nervous. Let’s take things slow!
- I have displayed some touch sensitivities. Ask our staff for more info!
- Once I warm up, I will solicit petting and be excited to see my favorite people!
- I was house-trained in my previous home!
- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information.

My home needs are:
- I must go to a home that already has another social dog so they can show me the ropes. If you'd like to meet me, Wayside requires you to bring your resident dog so we can meet!
- A fenced yard is a must for me! I need a secure area to run around and release my energy.
- I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises.
- Wayside recommends I go home to a quiet home environment.
- Wayside recommends researching my breed prior to adoption.
- For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.
- For my safety, I must go home in an airline/travel carrier.
