Tacoma's Story

Meet Tacoma (aka Ted) — Small Dog, Big Personality, and a Whole Lot of Heart!

Tacoma may be a little senior Chihuahua mix, but don’t let his size or age fool you! This handsome little gentleman has plenty of personality, a touch of sass, and some definite opinions about the world around him!

But there’s another side to Tacoma’s story, and it’s one we hope you’ll take a moment to understand.

Tacoma has experienced quite a bit of uncertainty and change in his life. For a little senior dog, all those unfamiliar places, people, and routines can be overwhelming. While we can’t know exactly how Tacoma feels about everything he’s experienced, we do know that he sometimes has difficulty trusting unfamiliar people.

And sometimes, Tacoma puts on a tough-guy act when he’s feeling unsure.

Unfamiliar people, particularly men, can make Tacoma nervous. He’s not a dog who immediately trusts everyone he meets, and that’s something his future family will need to understand and respect.

But there’s so much more to Tacoma!

He enjoys walks, car rides, snuggling up on a comfortable lap, and spending time with people he knows and trusts. He’s even enjoyed playing chase with other dogs! Beneath that feisty little exterior is a fellow who appreciates companionship and the simple pleasures of being someone’s beloved dog.

Tacoma would do best in a patient, experienced, adult-only home where he’ll be given the space to settle in, the guidance to work through his fears, and the consistency he needs. Someone who understands that trust isn’t something you demand. It’s something you earn.

Tacoma doesn’t need a perfect home. He needs the right home.

One where his little quirks are understood, his boundaries are respected, and he has the opportunity to feel safe, secure, and loved.

This sassy little senior has plenty of life and love left to share. Let’s help him find the stability, understanding, and lasting companionship he deserves.

PLEASE NOTE: Tacoma is not included in the Fox Marquette Subaru Share the Love adoption promotion. His regular adoption fee applies.
