Taco (S25-181)'s Story

- Bonded to Bella

Meet Taco - A Fun-Loving, Snuggly Companion with a Silly Side

Taco is an 8-year-old Maltese mix weighing 18.8 pounds (with just a few to lose), and he's an all-around awesome, funny, and loving little guy ready to share his life with a lucky family-ideally alongside his sister.

Taco has the perfect balance of playful and relaxed. He loves going for walks and short bursts of running, but he's definitely not training for a marathon! He also enjoys playtime and soaking up the sunshine during a good sunbathing session. When the day winds down, Taco is more than happy to turn into a couch potato and snuggle up with his humans.

This sweet boy is very people-oriented and loves to greet his favorite humans with kisses and his adorable little leg kicks. He prefers to be near his people but does just fine when left alone for a few hours. Taco already knows commands like sit, lay down, and come here-he's a smart pup who enjoys being part of the action.

Taco lives with other dogs and cats and does well with both. He can sometimes be a little protective of his person and may show some resource guarding, but this has improved significantly as he's become more comfortable in his environment.

On leash, Taco can occasionally be a bit reactive, but he corrects quickly and continues to make progress. When he gets overly excited, he may become a little ankle-nippy, so he would do best in a home without young children and with humans who are around more often than not to help guide him.

With his loving personality, goofy charm, and affectionate nature, Taco is truly a special dog who will bring so much joy and laughter into his forever home.

Could Taco (and his sister!) be the perfect addition to your family?
------
Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
