Sweet Potato

Sweet Potato, aka Sweetie, aka Mr Potato Head is a kind hearted youngster who loves people and friendly dogs. He takes his mission as a livestock guardian quite seriously. He can sit in the backyard for hours scanning for threats. He is a delightful walking companion, but if he decides your path isn't safe, he will not allow you to go further. He doesn't mind a little jogging, but he is also content to stroll. He will want to greet everyone he sees, in hope of getting a few pets. If you are looking for a dog that can go to the farmer's market or other dog friendly locations, Sweet Potato would be an excellent candidate. <br/><br/>In the house he may alert you to unexpected danger with a low rumble that may be followed by a very loud bark. He is aware of the movement of local wildlife such as squirrels, raccoons and coyotes. He is determined to keep you safe. <br/><br/>When not on duty he enjoys playing with toys and is quite good at entertaining himself by throwing them into the air and then catching them. He also enjoys playing with other dogs. He loves little dogs and tries hard not to bother cats.<br/><br/>Sweet Potato also enjoys playing with his people and learning new commands for treats. He has mastered sit and down. He loves attention and is willing to try being a lap dog, if invited. He is friendly and enjoys meeting new people. He hasn't been around children, but he looks at them longingly when he sees them when out walking. We think he would enjoy having a flock of children to protect. <br/><br/>Sweet Potato is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations. He is crate trained and house trained. He is currently in a foster home in Lake Stevens.
