Suzi is a 5 year old (DOB 5/20/18) smooth red dachshund recently released from a commercial breeder. Suzi has a few "battle wounds" that show some of what she's been through in her first 5 years. Her past makes her a little cautious about new things, but she is really starting to come out of her shell and love life outside the breeding industry.
Suzy loves to bask in the warm sunshine and knows how to find that bright ray shining through the front door every morning. Suzy enjoys spending time in the backyard exploring and is doing great with potty training. She will need a securely fenced yard so she can explore the world and sunbathe safely.
Suzy's a sweet little cuddler and wants to be by her person (or at least have sight of them) at all times so she will definitely be your shadow. When you are sitting down, she will come put her little feet up on the chair asking for you to pick her up for snuggles. She also loves to snuggle up to her dachshund foster sister for a nap. Suzi gets along with other dogs and will need a small resident dog to help her settle into her new home.
This little sunbather has had a rough start in life, but things are getting better every day. All she's asking for is a little sunshine and a lot of snuggles.
Suggested adoption donation for Suzi is a minimum of $500 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to other geographical areas as long as we can find a local volunteer to perform the courtesy home visit, and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs coming from a commercial breeding background require a securely fenced yard AND a resident dog for a companion, unless stated otherwise in the bio.
