Suzette's Story

Suzette is a 5 year old Frenchie (we believe her to be a Lavender Merle). She is up-to-date on all vaccines, has been heart worm tested negative and is microchipped.

Suzette came into the rescue from a puppy mill in Ohio. She didn't have a name there - just a number. As is typical in puppy mill dogs, she had no idea what it was like to be a dog. Her purpose in life was to produce puppies to make money for the Amish. When she was no longer useful to them, she was going to be dumped so we stepped in to take her.

Suzette required some extensive medical treatments when she arrived. Her airways were obstructed so she needed a BOAS (brachycephaly obstructive airway syndrome) surgery which involves widening narrow nostrils, shortening the soft palate and removing excess tissue from the throat. She also had an eye problem that went untreated which resulted in the removal of her eye. She was also spayed. She also has cauliflower ear due to an ear issue not being treated prior to her arrival with our rescue. This little girl has been through a lot.

Suzette has blossomed in the rescue. She is quite the character and absolutely LOVES everyone she meets. She loves to roll on her back and have her belly rubbed. She has the BEST personality.

Suzette has an issue with eating poop. She currently wears a face mask when outside so we can try to get a handle on this. Her new family will need to understand that this will require monitoring in order to hopefully break this nasty habit.

Suzette will require a fenced yard.

If you are interested in meeting Suzette, she will be at Pet Supplies Plus in Howell (2649 E. Grand River) on Sundays from 11-2 at our Meet and Greet event.

It is helpful for you to bring pictures and/or videos of your backyard fenced area. Additionally, it would be helpful for you to bring your other dogs as well so that we can see the interaction between them.

To complete a pre adoption application go to https://tinyurl.com/LETS-PreAdopt-

We do not typically do day of adoptions.

No out of state adoptions.

Adoption Fee $350 (payable by cash, check or Venmo)

Kids 8 and older.

Minimum age to adopt is 21.
