Meet Sunkist

Sunkist is an adorable girl who is looking for a home. Sunkist is now in a NJ foster home.
Sunkist came to us from the NYC shelter system. She was brought in to the shelter with her sibling - both very sick with parvo. The person who brought them in said she found them in a box a couple of days prior.
Sunkist was transferred to the emergency vet in NYC and once stable, transferred to Wag On Inn. Our volunteer drove her right to Garden State Veterinary Specialist where she fully recovered and then went into a loving foster home.
Sunkist is shy with new people but warms up and is very loving once she is comfortable. She seems to be more comfortable with women likely dues to women being her primary caretakers. She is dog friendly and cat friendly. She loves going out in the backyard unless it is too cold or rainy and prefers to use puppy pads at those times. That can be worked on with her adopters. She will go in her crate on command and does stay in there when foster mom is at work. She loves toys!
Sunkist is current on vaccines, has been treated for parasites and tested negative for heartworm. Wag On Inn is arranging for her to be fixed and microchipped soon. Her adoption fee is $5

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training
prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
