Hello! My name is Sunflower. I am a 1-year-old, 33-pound, hound mix gal. I had some dark days cooped up in a kennel at Springfield Animal Control for 30 days, but now I'm ready to face the sunshine and put all that darkness behind me! Since I was in a kennel for over a month, I am still a little shaky on my house training, but I have already improved, and I know I will master it in no time. I don't care much for being in a crate (can you blame me!?). I am pretty good on a leash. I get along great with other dogs after proper intros, dog savvy cats, and I like kids too, though I might accidentally knock really small kiddos down. I haven't met any cats yet, but I can be cat tested if needed. I am calm, sweet, and a little shy. My favorite place to be is on my person's lap! My ideal forever home has a fenced yard, but I would be okay without a fence and maybe even in an apartment, as long as I get plenty of daily exercise and play time and some off-leash time to run and play on a regular basis. Another dog to play with would be nice, but I would be okay as an only dog too, as long as I get plenty of attention from my people. I would love to meet you and brighten your day!
