Sunday's Story
Sunday came to us at the shelter one hot summer Sunday. Since then we’ve watched this clever girl blossom as a lady with “presence” and a side of goofiness. A bit cautious when she meets someone new, don’t let that fool you - inside she is playful, sassy and – most of all – a cuddler. Behind that gruff stance, her tail is wagging madly with enthusiasm at seeing someone new. She will warm your heart and loves to chill and just “be there” with her favorite people.

Sunday is a frequent visitor to doggy day-cares, where she is a crew favorite. Sometimes she’s promoted to the role of Greeter, to be in the lobby and be the first to welcome dogs and owners! Sunday has been working with a trainer and her volunteers on the basics for several months. This winter, she “wowed” this writer with her calm and her skills on leash (she’s better than my own dogs TBTH)

Sunday loves walks and adventures of any sort. She might grab a toy once she knows it’s walk-time – and she’ll prance with it to show the world her joyful spirit. If the weather’s fair and it’s time to chill, she may plop on the grass and demand a belly-rub. Sunday is great in the car for a drive to the park or an adventure. She’s just happy to be included…especially if squeaky toys can come too.

Sunday might prefer someone that understands guard breeds – she’s Cane Corso and Newfoundland. Once she knows you, she’ll show her chill and cuddly side, and she will love you unconditionally and loyally forever if you take your time getting to know her!

If you’re looking for a loyal snuggle buddy who embodies weekend energy every day, Sunday’s your girl!

Visit STAF.org for more information on our adoption process and our adoption application.

*** Email adoptadog@STAF.org for next steps! ***

• All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
• We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.
• You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
• Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences.
• We do request vet and personal references.
• We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.
