It's really her feet. Her back's a little scabby. Her face is inflamed but I started her on the apoquel yesterday and she's doing better. The cat is still a no-go here. I had to put up a gate to separate the back of the house from the front of the house and summer basically is just staying living room, dining room and my cat has the kitchen, back room & bathroom. It's my cat that doesn't want anything to do with Summer so I can't force it. Summer was introduced to my 3-year-old grandson and she fell in love with him! She is such a good girl . I don’t understand the lack of interest in her. she is the sweetest girl I've ever met. She just wants to be by your side 24/7. If it's her skin that is deterring anybody from adopting her, she just needs to be on a limited ingredient diet.

2/15/26-Due to a family emergency Summer has moved to her new foster home today thanks to her transport volunteers. she was a great rider too in the cars. Summer has arrived at her new foster home & is resting. She is just the sweetest girl ever. We will also be able to officially cat test her over the next week as she settles in. She has waiting some limited ingredient food & treats to try to see if it helps her skin too. We think it’s likely food sensitivities causing her itchy & inflamed skin.

Comments from one of her transport volunteers: “She is sweet, cuddly, and loves humans.”

1/11/26-Summer is the most loving little girl you will ever meet! We still have no idea why she is still here. She can be around other dogs just jealous of attention so needs to be the only dog in her new home. Her adoption fee is even waived!

1/2/26-Unfortunately I do not have any friends or pet stores nearby with cats to officially “cat test” Summer. I have seen her react to other critters & she is easily called off. I guess it would depend on the cat. So if someone has a dog savvy cat & is willing to be careful with introductions & work on any adjustment period, then it would likely work out.

12/11/25-Sorry for the delay in updating about Summer. It’s been a bit crazy here but she’s been a trooper through it all. She’s been a great companion and cheerleader. Here’s some information on our Star Girl:
Cuddle Queen: Summer’s Happiest place is right by your side while you’re awake and tucked up under the covers at night. She likes to share: your food, your bed, your personal space.
Daily Life: She’s crate trained but not thrilled about it; she is good on a leash, rides in car well. No reactivity to other dogs at the vets but prefers to be your one and only doggie. She goes potty outside but doesn’t actually ask to go out so a good schedule is working out.
Special Traits: Summer has sensitive skin and always will due to the poor living conditions in her previous life.
Ideal home: Summer will thrive with someone who can give her the attention she deserves.
Why She is Special: Summer is completely devoted to her people. I love her dearly but she deserves a family where she will be the center of their attention. She is loyal, cuddly, playful, a girl to brighten your day and warm your night. Summer got a winter coat as she's not a big fan of the cold or snow. Who can blame her? Lol She has a holiday angel who sponsored the rest of her adoption fee hoping she can get a home before New Year’s.

10/24/25-Summer says: It’s cool and rainy. I don’t want to get up. Let’s cuddle & watch a movie! Her skin inflammation on her feet has had a real flare up the past couple weeks with the season change but we’re getting there with some more antibiotics. Her skin & coat though looks wonderful!

10/5/25-Summer & I enjoyed BBQ dinner at my sister’s yesterday. PS: she prefers ribs. Lol Summer deserves a special family/person & can’t wait until they find her & apply.

9/28/25-I know this isn’t a good picture but it’s hard to get one when Summer is glued to my side every minute but you can see her fur looks great! She is doing very well here in the country. She had a bath with conditioner today as well as her nails clipped. Then we put her skin treatment on which is quite messy but so helpful. She’s up to 51 lbs and loves every meal. She is looking for her very own person(s) to love. Her people are the most precious to her. She is so easy to get along with—in her bulldog way. Like no personal space! She really doesn’t need much exercise, is not about toys or zoomies; snuggles are her favorite. She gets along with other dogs but would prefer to be the one and only in her home. She is great in her crate when I leave for a couple hours as long as she gets her marrow bone. She potties outside every couple of hours (although she holds it all throughout the night) when I take her out but has not yet specifically asked to go outside. I just took her for a pup cup and all the kids waiting in line wanted to pet her. Summer is a wonderful companion & can’t wait until someone comes to adopt her.

9/9/25-Summer has been here 2 weeks and is doing amazing. After being deprived of food and water for who knows how long, she is enjoying both in healthy amounts. Summer is gaining weight slowly but surely. I’ve found that giving her water in smaller doses frequently helps her potty training immensely. Her skin infection is healing nicely with the addition of an old time ointment that i used on my horses back in the day. She is very chill and thinks that holding the couch down is her main job. She is a great co-pilot in the car when I run my errands. Summer is a near perfect companion & waiting for someone to fall in love with her too & take her home.

9/1/25-Summer doesn’t know much about being a house pet yet, but she has snuggles down pat. She is looking so good now she doesn’t look at all like when she first arrived into rescue. Today she even discovered a toy!

8/31/25-Summer is doing well in her new foster home. We’ve spent a few days getting to know each other and working on her potty training. Her skin is still a hot mess of itchies healing from the infection but nothing that good food, rest and love won’t fix.

8/26/25-Miss Summer has arrived at her new foster home here in the country. She’s settling in nicely. She's on another 12 days of antibiotics and an anti inflammatory for her skin. She’s curled up next to me in my recliner. She will be ready for her new home in a few days!

8/17/25-I'm Summer's current foster mom, and this is one very special girl that just needs a chance to shine! She's happy, outgoing and is learning to play with toys. She needs to heal physically but mentally she just wants to love her humans. Miss Summer has had her 3rd medicated bath today and only 3 more to go before her spay. She's got so very much to give her special person or people. She just oozes love. Good on a leash too.

8/15/25-This morning after going potty in the yard again after breakfast she strolled the yard she with me while I cleaned the yard. She then beat me back up on the deck. I come back up on the stairs and she's at the top, hopping like a bunny in place. So happy!

8/14/25-Summer’s had another medicated bath & her scabs are now almost gone. Far, far better than before & less swelling in her feet too. Now she is just hanging on the deck in the sun getting her natural vitamin D.

8/13/25-Summer is doing well & such a nice girl. Though she was getting along with the other 2 dogs in the house, she started to get possessive of her new foster momma & got a little snappy with the dogs. We now feel she would be best as an only dog in her new home. She is moving to her new foster home near Binghamton,NY after her spay on Monday 8/25. She will be ready for her new home soon after her spay.

8/11/25-Summer Eloise is a sweet about 3-4 year old that was a stray to a shelter we work with & no one claimed her. We think she is an English Bulldog/french bulldog mix. Due to her bad skin condition she spent some time at a local vet being treated & checked out. They ruled out mange & diagnosed her with a skin infection & sent her with an oral antibiotics & a special medicated shampoo. She arrived today & ate every last kibble with 2/3 cup duck and rice and pepcid in velveta. She gives lots of kisses. She walked right into the crate with cookies and is totally unfazed being in it with a Kong & a hard femur bone & pedigree marrow bones. She is quiet as a mouse in her crate & does great in there.
