Sugarplum 3497's Story
12/18/25 Do you remember the incredible story of "Sugarplum" from Broward County Animal Care and Adoption? This sweetheart was found emaciated and dehydrated, sparking a call for help just a few weeks ago. Despite initial concerns of a blockage, Sugarplum's resilience shone through, and she was ultimately diagnosed with pneumonia. Miraculously, she's now recovered and thriving, ready to find her forever home. This vibrant 1.5-year-old bundle of energy is still very much a puppy at heart. You can read more about her journey in the heartfelt write-up from her foster family below. Sugarplum is eager to meet her forever family. Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). These dogs will always be supported by DRL. We welcome financial support for these dogs. Here are links to foster and adoption applications for those dogs who need a foster home or adoptive home.<br/>Foster Application Adoption Application
