Meet Stripes!<br/><br/>Stripes is a handsome 7 month old Dalmatian who came to us from Mecklenburg County. His previous owner signed him over to the shelter after they decided they were not in a position to care for him. Now he is with B&B and looking for his furever home! <br/><br/>Stripes is a true Dalmatian- energetic, inquisitive, loyal, intelligent, athletic, and energetic (yes, we said that twice). We are prioritizing breed experience (or comparable) for this guy! He loves other dogs and puppies, but does have a prey drive, so we are requiring a home without cats. He is jumpy and high energy, so we are looking for a home with older kids at this time. <br/><br/>Stripes has only lived outside, so crate training and house breaking may take some time. He pulls on the leash, but is very responsive to correction. He loves soft treats and would love a running or adventure buddy. His previous owner says he loves bacon flavored treats and the snow, he isn’t a huge fan of water, but will take baths! Are you ready for a new best friend to play, adventure, and explore with, Stripes is your boy!<br/><br/>He is being fostered in Richmond, VA and is up to date on core vaccinations, has been dewormed, and is on monthly preventatives. He has been heartworm tested and is negative. His adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of core vaccinations, microchip, and his required neuter, along with the cost of his care while in foster. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dog’s age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership. We require adopters to be within a reasonable distance of Richmond or Virginia Beach in order to complete spay/neuter with our approved clinics.<br/><br/>Note: Sending a Petfinder inquiry is not submitting an application. We require a completed adoption application to move forward with adoption.<br/><br/>Beagles and Bentleys has an across-the-board evaluative process that we apply to every application we review that prioritizes our animals in need. We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives, and cats must be altered and up to date on rabies) and a virtual home visit call where we discuss the adoption process and see your home.
