Stevie Coonhound & Shepherd Mix Bend, OR

Meet Stevie! Stevie is a 7 month old Shepard Mix and weighs about 43lbs. He was rescued from the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico while we were doing a spay/neuter clinic. This sweet and goofy boy stole the hearts of our volunteers with his mellow and funny antics. We know nothing of Stevie's parents so it is hard to determine his exact breeds but he is likely done growing and we know for sure that he is 100% adorable. Stevie is love bug and loves everyone he meets including children. He loves to play with other dogs and likes cats-even when they don’t like him. He is potty trained, crate trained and recently completed a puppy class where he has learned sit, lay down and stay. He is in his teenager phase of puppy hood and occasionally forgets his manners but with appropriate training and structure he learns quick. He walks best with a harness, occasional encouragement and another canine buddy to lead the way in unknown environments. Once he gets the lay of the land and lets his sniffer do the work he quickly gains confidence. Stevie's vision is slightly compromised, he is not blind but cannot see well directly in front of him. He can see shadows and changes in light but does not have perfect vision. This doesn't slow him down one bit and once he does a couple laps in a new place, he thrives. Stevie loves to play, take long naps, give all the kisses and get all the belly rubs. He is a sweet natured boy and truly one of a kind. The perfect home for Stevie would be one with at least one other dog who he can get his evening zoomies out with and older children who can understand his vision limitations.
