I am 4 years old and weigh 17 pounds. I need a new home because I was released from a breeder. I am being fostered in Omaha, NE.<br/> <br/>I am a very timid girl who is just learning to live with people and learn how to dog. I was terrified of my foster mom and the other person in the house at first, but with treats and patience, I am starting to warm up. I study my foster brother and sister closely to observe their interactions with the people and learn the routine. I am not ready to play with them yet but I do love to watch them run after and play with toys. <br/><br/>I don't like going to my kennel but understand that it is necessary sometimes. I will squeak for a few minutes then become resigned to my fate. <br/><br/>I love exploring the back yard but need to be closely watched because I will try to eat anything that can fit in my mouth. Foster mom has been walking me on a leash in the yard to help me learn what is not a snack and be more comfortable on the leash. <br/><br/>I would love to find a home with an older dog to teach me the ropes. I am learning to be a couch potato and will watch tv. When I become more comfortable with someone, I like to be next to them to get a belly scratch. I need a calm quiet household as I learn to live in a house with people companions. <br/><br/>I am very focused on a daily routine. My foster mom feeds me at 6am and 6pm. I let her know when the clock is getting close to these times. I had to have 9 teeth extracted and I make sure she wets down my meals so I can chew them easier. <br/> <br/>I love treats, chin and belly scratches, watching tv in bed, and exploring the yard<br/>I have a sweet and shy personality<br/>I would rather not be around loud people or unpredictable situations<br/>I need a quiet and patient home<br/> <br/>Here's a little more about me:<br/>Housetrained? no but working on it. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.<br/><br/>MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue's Adoption Policy
There is no fee for submitting an application with us. We are not affiliated with any other organization so we do require our application to be submitted in order to be considered. We prefer applications be completed online, We DO adopt to families with fenced in yards or those that live in apartments/condos. MABTR offers a two-week trial period with each adoption to ensure your new dog is a good fit. You only need to complete one application per household, not per dog of interest. MABTR will do our best to help transport any adopted dog within the 13 states we serve. We do not adopt outside of our service area, no exceptions. It may take us up to four days to process your application as we review applications twice a week.
