Stella and Peach German Shepherd Dog Mix Nixa, MO

Note: Dogs are pack animals and do not do well away from other members of their pack. The adopter is the alpha member of the pack, and the dog or puppy needs as much one-on-one contact with the alpha as possible. For this reason, all Route 66 Rescue Inc. dogs are adopted to inside homes only. They must be on leash, or inside a secure fence when outside, and not left outside alone when no one is home. Invisible fencing does not qualify as protection since other animals and strangers have access to the dog. The dogs must be returned to Route 66 Rescue, Inc. if ever given up by the adopter. Stella and Peach, probably littermates, are both female GSD girls. They are two years old with a birth date of approximately March 2022.
Stella is the girl with a darker muzzle and darker coloring.
Peach has the lighter muzzle and is lighter in coloring.
They are both great with other dogs and great with children!
We are unsure about cats, but they both like to chase squirrels and chipmunks, so a home without cats is probably best.
Peach is more prey-driven and Stella is more food-driven.
Both are housebroken, crate trained, and know basic commands. They would greatly benefit with more training.
They are both very sweet and very friendly with people. For GSDs, they are mild-tempered and not very protective. So neither one would be a good fit for someone looking for a guard dog.
Additionally, they are pretty bonded, but they would be all right to separate if needed, as long as there are children or another dog in the home. They need a forever home with a family that has time to give them time and attention.
