Meet Starsky! 💙<br/>If you're looking for a puppy who believes every day should be treated like recess, Starsky would like to submit his application.<br/>Starsky is a male double merle Australian Shepherd puppy born in March 2026 who currently weighs about 14 pounds and is still growing. He and his brother were found as strays under a porch in rural Central Texas.<br/>Given the circumstances surrounding their arrival and reports of other Aussie puppies recently being turned into the same shelter, we suspect these boys may have originated from a backyard breeding situation.<br/>Starsky is a happy, goofy boy who happens to be deaf, but don't tell him that—he certainly doesn't think it's a limitation. He takes on every day with confidence, curiosity, and a tail that never seems to stop wagging.<br/>Starsky has never met a stranger. He quickly makes friends with dogs, kids, and adults alike, and he absolutely loves having playmates. Whether he's roughhousing with another dog, chasing toys around the yard, or investigating every stick, leaf, and mud puddle he can find, Starsky is always ready for his next adventure. (Fair warning... your landscaping may occasionally receive his "expert" puppy excavation services!)<br/>This clever, food-motivated boy is eager to learn. Because he's deaf, he'll thrive with positive reinforcement, hand signals, and a family committed to continuing his training. He takes corrections from other dogs beautifully and is already making great progress with his potty training. Like any young puppy, he'll need consistency and patience as he continues to learn the ropes.<br/>At bedtime, Starsky settles into his crate with very few complaints and is happy to recharge for another day of fun.<br/>Starsky is looking for an active family that's ready to embrace all the joys (and occasional chaos!) that come with an Australian Shepherd puppy.
