Starla's Story

Meet Starla, about 9-month-old girl who is approximately 90% giant puppy, 10% professional security guard, and 100% convinced she belongs in your lap. This sweet girl is completely house trained, waits politely by the door, loves her crate, and sleeps there like a pro at night. But once she’s off duty, Starla is all about toys, belly rubs, couch cuddles, and getting as much affection as humanly possible. She’ll lean right into you for pets or dramatically drop to the floor to say, “Excuse me, my belly needs attention.”

Starla is great with dogs of all sizes and loves spending time outside patrolling the perimeter of her yard like she has very important business to attend to. A fenced yard would be her dream setup! Likely at least 70 lbs. when full grown, she’s still working on leash manners because, well... she is VERY strong, but she’s manageable with some continued training. She knows Sit and Shake and is learning that Fetch is supposed to involve bringing the toy back. She also has an ongoing passion project called “How Much Water Can I Spill from This Bowl?” and is learning that the answer should be zero. Starla may be unsure about cats and children, and she’s still figuring out which household stairs are acceptable and which ones are apparently suspicious. If you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate, big-hearted puppy who wants to patrol the yard, cuddle on the couch, and be your very oversized lap dog, Starla is ready to report for duty!

Interested in meeting this dog?
Visit our website (https://www.sccrescue.org/) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs.
