Stanley was hoping for a field trip.<br/><br/>He's what we lovingly call a Velcro Dog. Not because he sticks to furniture...<br/><br/>...because he sticks to you.<br/><br/>And here's where Stanley gets wonderfully weird.<br/><br/>He has a habit of quietly stealing a t-shirt, sweatshirt, slipper, or sock (don't worry, he doesn't destroy them) and carrying it back to his bed. Why?<br/><br/>Because apparently sleeping next to something that smells like his favorite human is the greatest thing ever invented.<br/><br/>Honestly... it's ridiculously sweet.<br/><br/>Stanley also has another important hobby:<br/><br/>Bird surveillance.<br/><br/>The neighborhood birds are very aware that Stanley is on duty. He takes his security position seriously and likes to offer the occasional bark just so everyone knows the feathered freeloaders are being monitored.<br/><br/>His resume includes:<br/><br/> Neutered<br/> Up to date on shots<br/> Microchipped<br/> Lap Dog Extraordinaire<br/> Laundry Relocation Specialist<br/> Bird Neighborhood Watch Captain<br/> Certified Tiny Best Friend<br/><br/>Stanley gets along well with other dogs and would love a family that enjoys having a constant little companion tagging along on life's adventures. Grocery run? Great. Couch marathon? Even better. Vacation? Don't forget his leash.<br/><br/>Before Stanley found his way to us, life hadn't been very kind. He was discovered after surviving a terrible dog attack and was so badly injured it took more than two months for him to recover. During that time, everyone who met him fell in love with his determination and gentle spirit. Today, you'd never guess the little dog in front of you is the same one who fought so hard just to get here.<br/><br/>Because food was once scarce, Stanley still prefers that mealtime be his own private affair. We completely understand. A peaceful place to eat and an adult home that respects his space are all he asks.<br/><br/>The rest?<br/><br/>He's just looking for someone to love.<br/><br/>Someone whose lap can become his favorite place on Earth.<br/><br/>Someone whose sweatshirt he can "borrow."<br/><br/>Someone whose life he can quietly follow from room to room, simply because being together is his favorite activity.<br/><br/>At the end of the day, Stanley isn't looking for a mansion, a huge yard, or a life of luxury.<br/><br/>He's looking for his person.<br/><br/>And judging by the way he looks at people...<br/><br/>...he'll spend the rest of his life making sure you never wonder how much you're loved.<br/><br/> "Some dogs chase balls.
