Stanley Rhodesian Ridgeback & Hound Mix Davis, CA

Stanley is part of the Retirement Litter! These twelve sweet doberman/ridgeback/hound (best guess) mix puppies have a unique background story. They were pulled from a property in Clearlake County, CA. This single property had numerous dogs. When animal control refused to get involved, HFP and some other rescue partners stepped in to rescue these pups with the help of committed fosters. These littles ones have already been through so much in their short lives, but only brighter days ahead!

They are ready for their forever homes and can’t wait to bond with you! These pups are expected to be on the larger side when full grown (perhaps 60-65lbs).

Based on foster feedback, some of these pups are on the shier side, but warm up and even enjoying cuddling on a warm lap once you earn their trust. These pups are playful amongst themselves and like to rough and tumble.

These pups are making progress with potty training and becoming less timid as they receive positive exposure to new things!

$375 adoption donation - vetted, up to date on age appropriate shots, dewormed, fecal tested/treated, flea tick treated & available w spay agreement addendum by/before 6 months. They are all microchipped with lifetime registry.



Ideal home will:

Have the time to commit to all things puppy! Please note puppies do not do well left alone long hours and need to be let out every 2-3 hours for potty. Long work schedule where the puppy would be left alone for 7+ hours can be difficult on most puppies and young dogs.

Solid plans for puppy socialization, positive exposure and continued training + relationship building -- commitment not just to puppyhood but to a lifetime of love, care, companionship and vetting. HFP advocates for Positive Reinforcement only for young puppies and training that focuses less on "obedience" and more on confidence building, relationship building and consent training.

Preference to homes w/ friendly & well-trained dog role models (preference, NOT required)

Preference to homes w/ yards (preferred, NOT required) Why? Puppies cannot go in public until they are 4 month old and complete their puppy shot series. Having a yard during this time greatly helps with play, potty training, and providing an outlet for your puppy to get outside. There are ways to work around this if you do live in an apartment setting but it takes some extra work and planning!

Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time.
